Snacking your way The Snack King

 You need a special dish or bowl as the case may be. Your drink of choice and a chair , recliner, couch, loveseat or a pillow on the floor, and a snack to make the snacking episode perfect. Just like a date, a dance or a job (ughh) you need to do it right or not at all.


Just sitting in front of the TV with a hand full of whatever was in arms reach is not snacking, that’s just boredom. You eat because you are bored. Go outside work on something, plan you snacking strategy and then and ONLY then should you snack. There are even survival snacks you can test out so you know you are preparing for an emergency at the same time.


Whether it’s the "Big Game" or the Saturday night stay at home and snack coming up, you need to have snacks on hand. Since you can’t just snack everyday (well you can but...) anyway, you need to get them and have them ready for the next important event like ummm Tuesday.

So how do you go about picking the correct snack for your upcoming event? Well , we begin with the four basic food groups. Sweet , salty, spicy hot and crunchy. There have been rumors of a healthy snack but I believe these rumors to be untrue and not to mention not very good.

Don't get me wrong carrot sticks and celery sticks are perfectly fine with the proper amount of onion dip.(or ranch if you prefer). 

Should you eat things that are bad for you as a snack YES (IMHO) definitely otherwise its not a snack, one of the best thinks about snacking is that it feels like you are breaking the rules. I think that that “eating the wrong thing” mentality just adds to the enjoyment. 

Like anything in life too much of a good thing , yada, yada, yada, you have so many options for a snack that there is no need to get tired of any one thing. 

Here are a few ways to assure your snack productivity. 

1. Try to localize your snacks from a country. week one Italy week two, Spain week three Latvia and so on ( Latvia has Pīrādziņi  oblong or crescent-shaped baked bread rolls or pastries filled with finely chopped fatty bacon cubes and onions) so Wiki tells us.

2. Pick different food groups as defined earlier Hot spicy, salty, sweet and crunchy. By the day buy the week or whatever. Make a chart write in a snack diary and rate each snack.

3. Premade or homemade. You can buy chips you can make chips you can et them either way. If they are not great , well onion dip can be added as an accessory.
